Morning Walk Adventure 12/23/2007
This
morning, we got up early to go out walking.
It was still dark when we started. |
Daddy
made me put on my raincoat and blinking lights. I need them both in the rain and wind and dark. |
I
wanted to see how my squirrel friends were doing in the storm. It was very wet everywhere. |
I
checked all the trees in the park.
Where are Mr. Squirrel and Mrs. Squirrel? |
I
even looked under the trees, where there was some shelter from the wind and
rain. “Anybody home?” |
I
sniffed and listened. |
I
even sat down and waited patiently, trying to be very still and quiet. |
We
kept walking and looking... |
I
was getting very wet, even with my raincoat on. |
Finally,
we did meet a squirrel. He was eating
seeds. |
I
was so excited that I barked. I
couldn’t help myself. I was so glad to
see one of my friends. |
He
ran up the tree, but stopped to say hello. |
I
was so glad he was OK. I think he
said hello, but I’m not sure. I don’t
speak squirrel. |
Daddy
and I were both cold and getting very wet. So we hopped in the car. |
I
curled up in the front seat for the ride home. So nice to be in my car, out of the rain. |
Daddy
held me and smooched me on the way home. |
When
we got home I was very hungry. Momma
had my food ready. BREAKFAST! |
Home,
dry and warm. It’s time for a nap. |
